There is a great need in Ohio to grow the skilled workforce needed to expand SG and broadband access. Broadband Infrastructure requires a diverse set of technical and managerial skills, including: understanding of network topologies, routing protocols, fiber optic cables, splicing, deployment methods for hi-speed internet connections, and maintaining broadband networks.
 
Our Broadband Infrastructure Training Program is designed to fulfill this need. This course provides participants the skills needed to pursue employment opportunities within this vital, in demand career field. This program is currently only offered in the the summer time month of June.

  • Fiber Optic Cable Installer
  • Broadband Equipment Installation Technician
  • Outside Plant Installations 
  • Fiber Optic Splicing Technician Trainee 
  • Broadband Equipment Troubleshooter

Career Skills Developed

  • Use of specialty tools and test equipment in the broadband field
  • Termination for cable, phone, computer and network application
  • Safe techniques for ladders, bucket trucks, highway safety and confined workspace
  • Broadband equipment installations in the home, office, and new construction and more!

Program Highlights

There will be opportunities throughout this course to earn industry-recognized credentials.
  • Certified Premises Cabling Technician (CPCT)
  • Certified Fiber Optic Technician (CFOT)
  • Occupational Safety and Health Association 10 hour (OSHA-10)
  • CPR/First Aid

  • Friday, June 20, 2025; 8:00 am - 3:30 pm  
  • Monday-Wednesday, June 23-25, 2025; 8:00 am - 3:30 pm 

Important Notes:
  • Students must attend all dates to apply. 
  • Times on these dates are subject to change. Students will be notified of any changes in time.
  • Students will be given 30 minutes for lunch each day.
