Program Overview

The Career Development program provides students with the opportunity for career exploration, career assessment, direct instruction in customer service and employability skills, and transferable industry credentials. At the completion of this program, students will have the skills and experiences needed to enter the workforce and earn a competitive wage.

Westland High School was the first to pilot this program during the 2016-2017 school year, and due to the program’s success, it will be expanded to all high schools in the district for the 2017-2018 school year. To date, students have earned credentials in Work Ethic Development, Customer Service Training, Occupational Safety Training- OSHA 10, and First Aid and CPR.
