Program Overview

Project LIFE is a comprehensive, transition program in which students can develop, practice and strengthen the skills that are high predictors of increased adult independence and successful integrated community employment.

Project LIFE 101

Project LIFE Project LIFE 101 is focused on building the foundational skills that students need for  success in future entry level employment settings while providing them with opportunities to learn and practice independent living skills.
 
The Program consists of classroom instruction and 2.5 hours, four days a week of community-based job training experience. 
 
This is a collaborative classroom with Franklin County Board of Developmental Disabilities. ​

Project LIFE 201

​Project LIFE 201 is focused on expanding the foundational skills that students with disabilities need for future success in entry  level employment settings and increased independence for adulthood. 
 
The Program consists of a combination of classroom instruction and 3.5 hours, four days a week of community-based job training experience.

The Project LIFE Model

  • Provides a comprehensive program that incorporates classroom activities, independent living skills, and community job site performance into a comprehensive, data report.
  • Utilizes Evidence Based Practice and has demonstrated documented positive employment outcomes.
  • Ongoing collaboration with community rehabilitation agencies, school district representatives, and families is a critical component for helping students achieve short and long-term goals for adult living and future integrated employment.
 
  • Employment planning meetings occur twice throughout school year.  They include all members of the students IEP/transition   team.  Students learn to lead these    important meetings and provide information related to their progress and future goals for employment.  They are an integral and important component of the program that  lead to positive outcomes.
